DAC Board
The PIEP Digital to Analog (DAC) Peripheral Board is a two channel, 12-bit DAC with onboard 1.6V and 2.5V precision references (jumper selectable for either 3.3V or 5V supply). The Microchip MCP4922 implements voltage doubling to enable full 3.3 Volt or 5 Volt output. Output voltage cannot exceed DAC supply voltage, therefore the 5 Volt maximum output can only be achieved if the PIEP motherboard peripheral voltage select is set at 5 Volts. Two SPI chip select options are jumper selectable (SPIP-2 or SPIP-8). Remote disable and non-triggered updates are implemented but may be disabled via board jumpers. Refer to the MCP4922 datasheet for more details.
